San Antonio’s continued population growth and increasing commercial activity have prompted development across the city, the following are a few such projects. As of Spring 2017, 200 acres of retail, multifamily, and single family residences are expected to begin the groundbreaking process, the development is located at the southwest intersection on Potranco and 1604. At the southwest corner of UTSA Blvd and I-10 is a 114-acre development potentially consisting of office space, restaurants, townhomes, and multifamily, groundbreaking is expected in Spring 2017. Down at the Lone Star Brewery a 32-acre, mixed-use development consisting of entertainment, restaurants, a food hall, three multifamily projects, hotel, office, parking, and retail is slated to come underway sometime in the Summer of 2017. In Oakwell Farms located southeast of Harry Wurzbach Rd and Oakwell Court, 44 acres are to be developed into for-sale residential, multifamily, retail, and possibly office as well as entertainment space however a groundbreaking date is currently to be determined. A 5.99 acre parcel at the corner of Essex and South Cherry street is to be constructed as a dense space combining retail, office, multifamily, for-sale residential, as well as parking space, a groundbreaking date is to be determined.
